Answers to questions we often hear. If yours isn't here, please contact us.
Can I use it for free?
Yes. Basic features are free to use. Features such as cloud storage integration and company-wide rollout require the Business plan.
Do I need an account to use it for free?
You sign in from "Free Use" in the app. You can sign in with a Microsoft account, a Google account, or your email address, and a Member Portal account is created for you on your first sign-in. The Member Portal account itself is free, and its creation is subject to the Member Portal Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you no longer need the account, you can delete it at any time through the procedure on the Member Portal (uninstalling the app does not delete it).
Read the license agreement →Which eCTD versions are supported?
Both ICH eCTD v3.2.2 and v4.0 are supported. Power Viewer auto-detects the regulatory region and loads the submissions accordingly.
View supported versions & regions →Can I use it without an internet connection?
Yes. By setting the offline mode via group policy, you can use it in a closed network.
How do the group policy file, the album database, and eCTD Storage relate?
The group policy file remembers where the album database is; the album database holds the registration details of your eCTD Storage. The eCTD files themselves live in that registered eCTD Storage (an internal shared folder, SharePoint, Box, and so on) — they are never stored inside the album database itself.
See system layout & where things live →Can we share an album database across multiple sites?
Yes. Add a Hosting contract (our cloud) or an Onprem contract (installed on your own server) to the Business plan to share an album database on a server, without setting up a file server or VPN. A file-based (SQLite) album database on a shared folder works with the Business plan alone.
See how to get started →We cannot place data outside the company. Can we still share on a server?
Yes. With the Onprem contract, you download the album database server (a Docker container) from the Member Portal and install it on your own server. The features are identical to the cloud version (Hosting). Note that a file-based album database (SQLite: a database file encrypted with a password) on an internal shared folder also keeps your data inside the company, and it works with the Business plan alone.
See fully self-contained deployments →With Hosting, which data is stored on your servers?
The contents of the album database (application/document metadata, backbone XML, users, access permissions, operation logs, and eCTD storage connection settings) are stored on our servers. The eCTD files themselves (PDFs and the like) stay in your storage, even with Hosting. With Onprem, all of this stays within your own server.
See data residency by deployment option →Can we try before purchasing?
Yes. For every contract — Business, Hosting, and Onprem — a free evaluation contract is available before purchase. Please contact us.
